Exams Department officers detained six teachers, one of whom was the principal of a school in Anuradhapura. The instructors were accused of using a cell phone to exchange the first question paper for the Grade Five scholarship test.
Based on the results of the investigations, the people had supposedly exchanged the images of the first exam question 10 minutes prior to the test starting.
As a result, the assistant supervisor, six teachers, and their cell phones were taken into custody for allegedly spreading the paper’s photographs.
The teachers and the principal work at government schools in Nochchiyagama and Anuradhapura.
Additionally, inquiries showed that the questionnaire had been distributed to a number of locations, including Colombo, Nochichiagama, and Anuradhapura.
Priyantha Fernando, president of the Ceylon Teachers’ Association, verified the occurrence of using a cell phone to copy the scholarship exam question paper.
“The exam has destroyed my confidence. Fernando stated that the legislation should be properly enforced by the authorities, and those accountable for the question paper’s publication should face harsh penalties.
However, 2,849 testing locations around the nation hosted the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam for 2024 last Sunday, September 15.
